About Us

Seeds of Impact is a faith-based nonprofit serving moms in recovery in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama area. We come alongside parents navigating trauma, addiction, incarceration, and other significant life challenges, equipping them with the tools and support they need to build safe, stable, and healthy families.

Why This Work Matters

Parenting in recovery isn't like parenting in any other season of life. Unhealthy cycles are often passed down from one generation to the next, custody is not always a given, and trauma and shame shape the parent-child relationship in ways that are hard to untangle. Research shows that parenting while in recovery can even increase the risk of relapse — these moms are carrying more than most of us can imagine.

That's why we do things differently: we address unhealthy cycles head-on, teach principles rather than one-size-fits-all strategies, meet moms with grace and humility wherever they are, and keep supporting them long after a class ends.

Our Programs

Parenting Classes

A 6-week, evidence-informed parenting course grounded in our faith-based Impact Parenting curriculum, open to any parent seeking to grow in their parenting.

Reunification Classes

A recovery-focused program guiding mothers through practical steps to navigate the reunification process with DHR and rebuild safe, healthy relationships with their children.

Parent Coaching

One-on-one coaching to support parents with individualized needs alongside their class participation.

41 Moms

Programs that help moms stay connected, keep growing, and live out lasting change for themselves and future generations.

• 41 Circles — drop-in support groups that meet multiple times weekly (virtually or in person), all covering the same topic for flexible scheduling
• 41 Groups — ongoing small groups offering steady accountability and deeper curriculum work
• 41 Community — a private, monitored Facebook group for encouragement, prayer, and connection between meetings (invitation-only, launching Fall)

An encouraging blog and journal offering practical parenting tools, biblical encouragement, and real-life stories. Private/invitation-only.

Cyclebreakers

A members-only website area with additional resources, curriculum materials, and tools for moms working on recovery and parenting goals.
